Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], July 16 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi reviewed the report of IIM Rohtak on the carrying capacity of Chardham on Tuesday and directed to prepare an action plan for a smooth and safe yatra.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi at the Secretariat had an in-depth discussion on the study report prepared by the Director of IIM Rohtak and his team to improve the carrying capacity and SOPs of Chardham yatra and to make the yatra pleasant, smooth, and safe as possible for the devotees.
During the meeting, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi directed that efforts should be made to accurately assess the carrying capacity of the four Dhams for the action plan to be prepared for a smooth and safe Chardham yatra.
In the action plan, special attention should be paid to issues like solid arrangements for medical and emergency services for the devotees, effective management and monitoring of the yatra, and strengthening the local economy while preserving the local ecology.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has given instructions to give priority to improvement in the condition of roads, traffic jams, solution of the problem of overcrowding in the first 40 days after the opening of the doors, and arrangement for feedback of the devotees in the action plan.
In order to simplify the registration system of devotees, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) card based registration system and AADHAR based registration were discussed in the meeting. Along with this, keeping in view the safety and convenience of the Chardham pilgrims, the implementation of an SMS Weather Update System, providing medical facilities under the PPP model or CSR on the travel route, implementation of Batch Wise Darshan system for crowd control in the Dhams and review of parking capacity were also discussed.
Earlier on Monday, Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi held a meeting with the Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board in the Secretariat and gave strict instructions regarding e-waste management in the state.
After meeting, she instructed all government and non-government organisations to strictly make proper arrangements for solid waste management and medical waste disposal.
Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board is going to issue notices to all those government departments that have unnecessarily accumulated e-waste, like unusable old computers, printers, scanners, and mobiles. (ANI)
