Kailashahar (Tripura) [India], September 7 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Saturday attended the 75th anniversary celebration of Ramakrishna Mahavidyalaya in Tripura’s Kailashahar.
Ramkrishna Mahavidyalaya is the second oldest college in Tripura. It was established on 1st September 195.
In a post on X, CM Manik Saha, extended his best wishes to the students, alumni, and faculty members.
“Today, I attended the 75th-anniversary celebration of this prestigious institution and extended my best wishes to the present students, alumni, faculty members, and all the local people,” CM Manik Saha said on X.
CM Saha also inaugurated a photo exhibition highlighting the golden history of this Mahavidyalaya & a blood donation camp.
CM Saha further informed that Ramakrishna Mahavidyalaya was established under the aegis of Ramakrishna Mission.
“Under the aegis of Ramakrishna Mission, Ramakrishna Mahavidyalaya was established in 1950 at Kailashahar for the development of education. Countless individuals have passed out from the college since its inception,” CM Saha said on X.
Earlier on Friday, CM Saha announced a special package of Rs 564 crore for the flood-affected areas and people in the state.
On the third day of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, CM Saha said that Members of this Assembly are aware that the recent floods in the state have caused extensive damage to roads, bridges, power transmission lines, agriculture, gardens, cultivable agricultural land, fish ponds, dams, animal resources, and houses.
“National highways, state roads, and rural roads were flooded, and ponds, reservoirs, and farmlands were inundated with silt and water. The initial estimate of damage due to the flood is about Rs 14,247 crore. District magistrates and line departmental officers assessed the actual damage at the field level. After assessing the actual damage, the state government will submit a memorandum to the Union Home Ministry requesting additional funds for relief and rehabilitation,” said CM Saha.
