Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 23 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy hit out at the Centre over the Union Budget and said that Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas is a “bogus” slogan.
Addressing reporters at his residence in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, CM Reddy, said, “The Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas slogan is bogus. This budget looks like KURSI BACHAO BUDGET. Apart from Bihar and Andhra Pradesh no state has been given anything, it looks like PM is trying to save his chair. Telangana has given 35 percent votes to the BJP and 8 Parliament seats.”
Recalling his recent meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, seeking aid for the various developmental projects, CM Reddy said, “Today’s Union Budget shows the attitude of Centre towards Telangana. Even though we visited Delhi many times and met the Prime Minister, Home Minister and other top leaders, justice was not done.
“We requested to release funds to Telangana. PM visited Adilabad, Telangana. I received him and said that PM Modi ji is like elder brother and should ensure Telangana gets its rights. I am not questioning the funds given to Andhra Pradesh. The AP reorganisation act has Bayyaram Steel Plant, Tribal University and other aspects that are related to Telangana. I even asked the centre to give funds for Music River development.”
He stressed that “If India should become 5th largest economy, then Hyderabad which is one of 5 metropolises in India, should develop”.
“Not a single rupee was given for metro, RRR road or others. Even ITIR corridor project was not mentioned in the central budget. Nothing related to Telangana development was thought about in the Union Budget,” CM Reddy said.
Taking a swipe at PM Modi for allegedly excluding Telangana in the pursuit of Viksit Bharat,” CM Reddy said, “I think that PM Modi is thinking that Telangana is not part of Viksit Bharat. Modi became PM with the blessing of the Telangana people. Instead of a thank you, BJP is acting as revenge on Telangana.”
He also hit out at Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy, seeking an answer from him about the alleged injustice done to Telangana in the Union Budget.
“Union Minister Kishan Reddy should answer about the injustice done to Telangana. He should apologise to the people of Telangana and resign from the cabinet,” he said, adding, “Kishan Reddy, your silence is doing grave injustice” to Telangana.
CM Reddy said: “Our 8 Congress MPs will surely express their protest along with other MPs. The AP Reorganisation Act is not only about giving funds to AP but also about Telangana. I request the 8 BJP MPs and the AIMIM MP to take part in the protest programme by the 8 Congress MPs. All should rise above politics and fight for the state.”
He said that the state government will hold a discussion on this alleged injustice in the Legislative Assembly, asking Nirmala Sitharaman to release the funds for various developmental projects.
“Nirmala Sitaraman should give us the funds for the Bayyaram steel plant, Kazipet railway factory, Hyderabad metro, Musi river development, Pharma sector development and others by keeping aside their revenge attitude. In the Legislative Assembly, we will discuss this injustice after the question hour,” he said. (ANI)
