Patna (Bihar) [India], May 9 (ANI): Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Friday emphasised that Pakistan must take responsibility for its actions and apologise for the attack. He stated that India’s response was a retaliation, not provocation, and that Pakistan’s actions will have consequences.
Kishor warned that a war-like situation would harm society, both countries, and their citizens, and that such a situation must be avoided
Prashant Kishor said, “This all started with Pahalgam. India targeted 9 terrorists’ sites after that. Pakistan needs to understand that a war-like situation shouldn’t happen, because citizens of both countries will suffer.”
He further said, “If a war-like situation is created, it will harm society, both countries, and their citizens. Such a situation must be avoided. But the responsibility does not lie with India- it lies with Pakistan.”
On April 22, 2025, terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists in Pahalgam, killing 26 people, including 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national. India has accused Pakistan-based terror groups of orchestrating the attack.
Pakistan must face the consequences for attacking India in the first place. Our response was a retaliation, not a provocation. Now, Pakistan should be ashamed of its actions and must apologise.”
India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist sites in Pakistan. Pakistan responded with missile strikes on Indian military installations, which were successfully neutralised by India’s air defense systems.
“Pakistan knew they were wrong in their actions against India, and they should have ended it there. But instead, they chose not to,” stated Kishor.
India’s air defense ecosystem, established over the past 11 years, played a crucial role in neutralizing the missile strikes. The Integrated Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Grid, S-400 Triumf systems, Barak-8 missiles, Akash Surface-to-Air Missiles, and DRDO’s anti-drone technologies created a robust aerial shield.
As the situation escalates between India and Pakistan, with both sides indulging in retaliations following the launch of Operation Sindoor, sources confirmed that every missile fired by the neighbouring country was “intercepted or neutralised,” with none being able to reach its intended target.
Pakistan attempted to escalate tensions by launching missile strikes at Indian military installations across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. However, the sources said that they were successfully neutralised.
The situation remains volatile, with both countries engaging in retaliatory measures. India’s armed forces have struck deep into Pakistani territory, destroying a Chinese-supplied HQ-99 air defense unit in Lahore and damaging key radar infrastructure. The use of loitering munitions, or suicidal drones, has also been reported
The sources informed that the Narendra Modi government didn’t materialise the level of preparedness overnight, but has been upgrading India’s air defence architecture since 2014. This includes a Rs 35,000 crore deal signed in 2018 for five 400 Triumf squadrons, of which three are operational along the borders with China and Pakistan.
Moreover, India signed a deal worth Rs 2.5 billion dollars with Israel for the deployment of Barak-8 Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missiles (MR-SAM), which remain active in frontline bases like Bhatinda, the sources said, adding that the centre also focused on developing Indigenous Akash missile batteries and DRDO-developed counter-drone systems.
The US has urged both countries to seek a responsible solution through diplomatic means, while China has called for maximum restraint.
The Operation Sindoor also marked the debut of loitering munitions – suicidal drones, ordered in 2021 and manufactured in India. The sources said these drones executed simultaneous, precision strikes across sectors, taking Pakistan’s defences by surprise.
Harop drones of Israeli origin are now built locally, sources said. They were deployed to target and destroy air defence assets in Karachi and Lahore. (ANI)
