New Delhi [India], July 27 (ANI): Vice President and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Jagdeep Dhankhar, emphasised that the government must examine the authentic report of the Shah Commission and place it in the house as it relates to the “darkest period of Indian democracy.”
VP Dhankhar replied after BJP member Deepak Prakash, during the zero hour, demanded that the Shah Commission report be made public.
The Rajya Sabha Chairman told the government that the member had raised an issue of grave public importance.
“The report relates to the darkest period of Indian democracy; the government must examine the authentic report and place it on the table of the House,” Dhankhar said.
The Shah Commission was appointed by the Government of India to inquire into excesses of the Emergency (1975-77), imposed by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Afterwards, AAP MP Raghav Chadha alleged state-sponsored spyware attacks, and MoS (Electronics and IT) Jitin Prasada told the Upper House that there is no such thing as state-sponsored hacking or tracking.
He said that the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) is in touch with Apple and getting information from the company about the alerts. He said agencies will act on the information provided
Amid opposition protests in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the UPA government refused to implement the Swaminathan report as they only wanted to indulge in politics.
The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12.30 pm after an uproar in the House as TMC members sought to raise the remarks of Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar for making north Bengal part of the northeast and BJP members sought to raise alleged corruption in Karnataka.
Speaker Om Birla did not allow the issues to be raised in the lower house.
Targeting the INDIA Bloc, Janata Dal (United) MP and Union Minister Rajiv Lalla Singh said that the NDA alliance is strong and is glued by Fevicol.
“NDA alliance is strong and is glued by fevicol,” he said.
“Aap gidth ki tareh nochte hain,” Lallan Singh said, adding that the Opposition should accept the reality of the NDA majority so that they have peace of mind.
Union Health Minister JP Nadda said in the Lok Sabha, while responding to queries, that India has become the dispensary of the world.
The speaker supporting Nadda’s remarks said that whichever country he has visited, there is demand for Indian medicines.
“India can be number one in exports in terms of medicine,” Speaker Birla said. (ANI)
