Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) [India], December 13 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Prayagraj ahead of Mahakumbh 2025 is significant for ‘Sanatan Dharma’ followers.
Addressing a public rally in Prayagraj during the inauguration of several developmental projects, CM Yogi noted that the ‘Akshayvat corridor’ and ‘Bade Hanuman Ji Mandir Corridor’ will be inaugurated by PM Modi.
“The arrival of the Prime Minister is extremely important for all Sanatan Dharma followers in view of the inauguration of the 2025 Prayagraj Mahakumbh. Projects worth thousands of crores are going to be inaugurated here today. After hundreds of years, on the inspiration, guidance, and ideals of the PM, for the first time in the 2019 Prayagraj Kumbh, devotees got the darshan of Akshayvat. This time the Akshayvat corridor is going to be inaugurated,” UP CM Yogi Adityanath said.
“Bade Hanuman Ji Mandir Corridor is also going to be inaugurated,” he added.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Prayagraj on Friday to inaugurate and launch multiple development projects worth around Rs 5,500 crore for Mahakumbh 2025.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Sangam Nose in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj and performed pooja and darshan at the Sangam. The Prime Minister also took a ferry ride in the Sangam River accompanied by Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel.
During his visit, PM Modi also offered prayers at Prayagraj’s Lete Hanuman Mandir.
As per a government release, the Prime Minister inaugurated various projects for Mahakumbh 2025. It will include various rail and road projects like 10 new Road Over Bridges (RoBs) or flyovers, permanent Ghats, and riverfront roads, among others, to boost infrastructure and provide seamless connectivity in Prayagraj.
In line with his commitment towards Swachh and Nirmal Ganga, the Prime Minister also inaugurated projects of interception, tapping, diversion, and treatment of minor drains leading to river Ganga, which will ensure zero discharge of untreated water into the river.
He also inaugurated various infrastructure projects related to drinking water and power. The Prime Minister inaugurated major temple corridors that will included the Bharadwaj Ashram Corridor, Shringverpur Dham Corridor, Akshayvat Corridor, and Hanuman Mandir Corridor, among others.
These projects will ensure ease of access to devotees and also boost spiritual tourism.
PM Modi also launched the Kumbh Sah’AI’yak chatbot that will provide details to give guidance and updates on the events to devotees on the Mahakumbh Mela 2025, the release said.
Notably, the Maha Kumbh, held once every 12 years, is scheduled to begin on January 13 and conclude on February 26, 2025, in Prayagraj.
The main bathing festival, known as the “Shahi Snan” (royal baths), will take place on January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami). (ANI)
