Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], Spetember 2 (ANI): Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed his condolences on Monday over the deaths of 11 aspirants during the physical tests for the recruitment of excise constables. He also announced the postponement of the recruitment process for three days and instructed that races will not be held after 9 am, as well as, medical arrangements for candidates needing health check-ups and breakfast and fruits to be provided to participants.
“As a precautionary measure, we have instructed to postpone this recruitment process for the next 3 days. The race will not be organized after 9 am in any case. There will be adequate arrangements of doctors for those candidates who feel the need for a health check-up before the race and there will be arrangements for breakfast/fruits for the participants at all the competition venues so that no one participates in the race on an empty stomach” Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren said.
“After all, what are the reasons behind relatively healthy/fit people of our village-society getting injured in the physical test which is being conducted since long? After all, what changes have taken place in the health of the general public in the last 3-4 years in the country including Jharkhand? To review the reasons for the untimely death of these youth, so that such accidents do not happen in future, we have constituted a committee of health experts and have also directed them to give a consultation report” he added.
