Patna (Bihar) [India], September 27 (ANI): Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Saturday slammed the Opposition leaders for criticising the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Taking a jibe at Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, the Deputy CM said that their rule had tarnished Bihar, while the NDA regime has advocated for women’s empowerment.
Sinha said, “The NDA government has always advocated for women’s empowerment. The Congress, which was in power at the centre for 55 years, and the RJD-Congress, which was in power in Bihar for 15 years, together tarnished and ruined Bihar. These people have no right to speak.”
He added that the Opposition is troubled amid the government’s initiative to uplift women.
“They abused and forced people to migrate from Bihar; they should be ashamed. People who abuse mothers and sisters, and give election tickets to rapists, do not know how to respect women. They are troubled by the initiatives started by the double-engine government for the upliftment and respect of women,” he said.
Targeting Congress over the party’s Working Committee meeting at Sadaqat Ashram in the State, he added, “Congress is about to drown. Those who did not hold a single meeting in Bihar post-Independence are holding their meetings now. They are afraid they will be wiped out of Bihar. This is the land of democracy, and people will not accept ‘parivartantra’ (family-driven system).”
Earlier on Friday, PM Modi launched the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana for Bihar and directly transferred Rs 10,000 each into the bank accounts of 75 lakh women across Bihar, totalling Rs 7,500 crore.
Following this, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticised the scheme, arguing that it is an “attempt to buy” votes rather than giving respect to women.
Addressing a public rally in Patna, she said, “You have to see which party is giving you respect. Respect doesn’t mean giving you Rs 10,000 just 10 days before the election. That’s an attempt to buy. You will be respected when you receive a fair monthly salary, when the government helps you stand on your own feet, when your daughters go to school and feel safe.”
Meanwhile, as Union Minister Amit Shah interacted with NDA workers in Bihar ahead of the Assembly elections, Vijay Kumar Sina said that he inspired party workers to stop ‘jungle raj’ and anarchy in the State.
“Union Home Minister Amit Shah keeps coming to Bihar… It’s an election year, his guidance inspires every worker to be determined to form the NDA government again, to stop jungle raj in Bihar, and to ensure that Bihar does not become a victim of anarchy again,” the Bihar Deputy CM said.
Amit Shah is on a two-day tour of Bihar on September 26-27, where he is holding several meetings and addressing party workers. (ANI)
