Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 21 (ANI): Gorakshpeethadhiswar and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed a special pooja for Guru Gorakhnath, following the traditions of the Nath sect on Sunday.
He paid respects to his Gurudev, the late Mahant Avedyanath, Dadaguru, the late Mahant Digvijaynath, and all the gurus of the Nath sect, expressing his gratitude for their guidance towards public welfare. Additionally, he performed Rudrabhishek dedicated to the Gurus and prayed to Devadhidev Mahadev for public welfare. He also fed jaggery to the cows as part of the service.

The special rituals of Guru Purnima began early in the morning at the Gorakhnath Temple and concluded with a collective aarti. Gorakshpeethadhiswar and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also extended heartfelt Guru Purnima wishes to all countrymen.
Whenever Gorakshpeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath is at the Gorakhnath Temple, the darshan and worship of Guru Gorakhnath and the gurus of the Nath sect are part of his daily routine.
However, Guru Purnima is an extraordinary occasion at the temple. On Sunday, Gorakshpeethadhiswar and CM Yogi Adityanath performed rituals to honour Mahayogi Gorakhnath, the idols of various deities, and the statues of Nath sect gurus in the temple, accompanied by Vedic chanting.
The ceremonial programs followed a specific sequence. Gorakshpeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath first visited the court of Adiguru Bhagwan Gorakhnath of the Nath sect, performing worship amidst Vedic chants. He then visited and worshipped all the idols within the temple premises.
Following this, he paid respects at the Samadhi of Baba Gambhirnath, his grandfather, the late Mahant Digvijaynath, and his Gurudev, the late Mahant Avedyanath, as well as other late gurus, performing Vedic rituals and seeking their blessings.
By the special tradition of the Nath sect, the temple’s head priest, Yogi Kamalnath, offered Mahaprasad of roti to Guru Gorakhnath. After the worship rituals were completed, the traditional collective Maha Aarti was performed on Guru Purnima, expressing faith and reverence for all the gurus.
On the occasion of Guru Purnima, alongside the completion of special rituals by Gorakshpeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath, all the Nath Yogis, including the head priest Yogi Kamalnath and Mahant Yogi Mithileshnath of Devipatan Shaktipeeth, applied tilak to Gorakshpeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath according to Nath sect traditions and received his blessings.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also performed Rudrabhishek of Lord Bholenath in the Shaktipeeth of Gorakhnath Temple on Sunday morning. After completing the Rudrabhishek, he offered prayers to Devadhidev Mahadev Shiv Shankar for the welfare of all beings and for a happy, prosperous, and peaceful life for all citizens.
During his visit to the Gorakhnath Temple, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also visited the temple’s cowshed and fed the cows with jaggery. He also interacted with the children on the temple premises, distributing chocolates and inquiring about their parents’ well-being, thereby showing his caring and approachable side. (ANI)
