Doda (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], August 3 (ANI): In a compassionate outreach effort under Operation Sadhbhavana, the Indian Army organised a free medical and veterinary camp at Kulhand, Doda, to address the healthcare and veterinary needs of the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities living in remote areas.
The initiative aimed to provide essential healthcare services to communities living in areas largely devoid of basic amenities and is a part of the Army’s continued efforts to strengthen its relationship with the local population and to ensure welfare for marginalised groups living in difficult terrains
Locals expressed gratitude, highlighting the Army’s consistent presence as a source of support and reassurance in the region.
Faroon Bhat, who visited the camp, told ANI, “We thank everyone. The Indian army has accomplished a great deal, and we salute them. In Kulhand, the Indian army set up a camp to help people with checkups and access to medicines. They also have medications related to animal husbandry.”
Another local, Kavita Sharma, who visited the camp, said, “We came to the medical camp because the hospital is far, causing us many issues. We brought the elders here for medicines. We also received Horlicks for children and free medicines. It is very helpful for us.”
The Official X handle of Fire and Fury Corps of the Indian Army carried a post on Saturday about organising a veterinary aid camp in collaboration with the Government Veterinary Hospital, where almost 109 animals and poultry were treated.
The of Fire and Fury Corps posted, “A veterinary aid camp was organised in collaboration with #Government Veterinary Hospital, Diskit. Around 109 animals and poultry were treated and given free care. Vitamin blends, dietary supplements and dewormers were provided to treat ailments and enhance overall animal well-being of Nubra Valley.”
These camps are regularly organised in far-flung regions where access to both human and veterinary healthcare remains limited. The Indian Army’s outreach through Operation Sadhbhavana continues to build mutual trust, promote peace, and support development in border and conflict-sensitive areas. (ANI)
